Photography Samples

In case you missed it, I am both a photographer and writer of all sorts. But truly I don't even believe I should limit myself to strictly those two occupations. I'm likely to always be the type of person who needs a little education and challenge in my life. So I can't exactly see myself settling for calling it a done deal after my graduation. I enjoy pushing my own boundaries of what I'm creatively capable of. I hope that any employer who hires me will allow me to do work that accentuates my two natural gifts, writing and photography, but will motivate me to push myself when the time is right.
Easter 2012

These images are of my parents at their home in Stephenville, Texas for Easter 2012. These aren't my most "formal" forms of photography, but I can't tell you how much I enjoy being able to bless my parents with great photography.

Holiday Pictures. Take 1.

I took these pictures of my parents over my Thanksgiving break to their home. My parents needed pictures for Christmas cards, and like last year, I agreed to take pictures of them. The hardest part of being a photographer is when it comes down to family pictures. I'm either left out of the pictures, or I have to teach my mom or dad somewhat how to use my DSLR to take pictures of myself, but we never are able to take pictures of all 3 of us.

Sacco Senior Session. 2013.

I have to say, I feel like I do my best work when it comes to high school and college senior sessions. I must admit that I am not the best with posing and directing children, but with teens and adults, I am much better with posing and directing.

Boyd Women. 2011.

This was one of my first round of jobs. I think I'd had about 2-3 sessions before this one. This was a mother/grandmother, her daughter, and the grandaughters who were twins. So these 4 ladies are 3 generations of women. It was a tad complicated to get 4 people posed and ready for a picture with two of them being toddlers. I'm decently pleased with the results.

Jacobs Family. 2013.

I did this quick session for the Jacobs Family in November of 2013 right before Christmas. We had a hard time connecting with each other to get the session done, and were pressed for time during the session. Unfortunately this is not one of my most creative shoots. Also this is the youngest child I've ever shot and it was incredibly difficult to try and photograph someone who obviously can't understand any direction or posing you'd hoped to accomplish.

Blankenship Senior Practice. 2012.

This is one of my favorite shoots I've ever done, I feel like I had it all down, direction, posing, good background, etc. Unfortunately this was really just for practice. I don't believe it was a paying job. The next set I'll be posting below this is the same family, a daughter and stepdaughter to the mother who allowed me to practice with her daughters. These were both beautiful girls who were incredibly natural at posing and needed very little editing. This was the first session and the following session came a month or so afterwards.

Blankenship Practice. 2012.

These are the Blankenship sisters. Absolutely great to photograph, so natural with posing and needed basically no direction.

Creative Work

This is just a different variety of some of the more "creative" projects I did for various assignments throughout school.
